Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
Your safari starts with an early pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or by your safari guide in Entebbe. After a short briefing, you start driving north towards the Murchison Falls National Park— Uganda’s biggest and the oldest conservation area.
You will see vibrant markets alongside the road, rolling hills, and rural villages which will give you a taste of the cultural life in Uganda while you travel through the countryside. On your way, take a break at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you will find rhinos in the wild. When you go for a walking safari with a guide, you will be able to observe these magnificent creatures from close range.
Drive up to the Murchison Falls, getting there in the afternoon. Before you check into the lodge, visit the top of Murchison Falls—an incredible place where the mighty Nile River squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge and falls 43 meters into a pool with a terrible roar below. The volume of the falls and the mist created by the river are so mesmerizing that they remind one of the raw power of nature.
Later, you will be transferred to your lodge where you will have dinner and rest while listening to the distant sounds of wild animals through the night.

You will find elephants, buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, and many other antelopes here. Lions may be seen hidden in tall grass, while leopards move slowly through the trees. The open grassland attracts warthogs, baboons, and different kinds of birds.
Afterwards, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, followed by an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile River. This is one of Uganda’s premier attractions. The cruise takes you upstream to the foot of Murchison Falls, where you will have elephants, crocodiles, and hippopotamus sights along the riverbanks. Such awesome photo opportunities are also waiting for you along with the colorful kingfishers, herons, and bee-eaters.
