The forest is thick with mist; expert rangers guide you while you track one choice gorilla family. Tracking lasts somewhere between 2 and 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. When you finally get to see them, time stands still. It becomes very heart-moving: watching the silverback defend his family or a baby gorilla cling to the mother. Having spent a magical hour with the gorillas, take a return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, one may visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to witness traditional songs and dances as well as learn about Rwandan life. Enjoy your lunch after trek, followed by a drive to visit the scenic twin lakes of Ruhondo and Burera. A photographic venture, meeting with fishermen, and enjoyment in the tranquility of lakes embraced by volcanic hills, are in store. Return to the hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening and farewell dinner.
