Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe / Kampala – Transfer to Kibale Forest
Your trip starts with a beautiful drive from Kampala or Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park, where the biggest group of chimpanzees in Uganda lives. You will be driving through the green highlands of Fort Portal, which has tea plantations and a rich cultural heritage. Upon arrival at the end of the day, check in at your lodge and enjoy a laid-back evening with the forest at your doorstep.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale – Bigodi Swamp Walk

After an early breakfast, it is time to go and find the chimps among which you will be the only ones for a day. You, ranger and the other members of the group are going to track the chimp troop through the dense forest. You will hear them chattering before you actually see them then you are going to watch them swinging, feeding and socializing all in their natural habitat.
Later in the day visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, which is a community-run reserve packed with birds, monkeys and butterflies. You can also see a little bit of local life and conservation through the walk.

Day 3: Kibale – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, take a scenic ride up to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park going through the amazing Ishasha sector and rolling hills of Uganda’s southwest. There are chances you will find the long-horned Ankole cattle, see banana plantations, and observe how lively the local rural areas are. You will reach Bwindi just before the evening and the check-in will be on the lodge overlooking the tree tops.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Today is the day you have long waited for—the gorilla tracking experience. First meet and listen to the rangers’ briefing after that hike in the thick jungle trying to find one of the 20 habituated gorilla families. It might take from 2 to 6 hours, but every minute is definitely worth it when you finally come face to face with a gentle giant and his family.
Spend one hour with the gorillas which you are going to use for observing—feeding, grooming and playing. It will a touching and unforgettable experience that will be etched in your heart forever. Later on, go back to your lodge and relax while reflecting on what you just experienced.

Day 5: Return to Kampala / Entebbe
After breakfast, set off back to Kampala or Entebbe with a stop along the way for photos at the equator and shopping for souvenirs. Get there in the evening either for your next flight or hotel transfer.
