Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park – Afternoon Game Drive
Your guide will pick you up early in the morning from your place of stay in Kampala or Entebbe as the safari begins. After a quick meeting with your guide, you will be heading to the southwest through the Ankole cattle corridor till you get to Lake Mburo national park which will take you around four to five hours. On the way, one gets to feel the different contours of the areas as he or she moves from the central towns through the suburbs to the country with the plantations being the first-to-visibly carry the change.
The tour has a very scenery stop-over at the Equator line along Kayabwe, the same is not only a good place for pictures but one can also enjoy local crafts and a good cup of Ugandan coffee. Moving on, the journey will pass through little settlements and vast banana plantations until you reach the park’s main gate at Rwonyo.

Day 2: Morning Nature Walk – Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo – Evening Game Drive
The sound of birds and the breath of the breeze on the savanna will wake you up early. After a good breakfast, you will be off for a walking safari with a park ranger as your guide. One of the few places in Uganda where walking safaris are allowed is Lake Mburo, and therefore, this is a rare opportunity to take a bushwalk on foot in Uganda.
With Park Ranger leading you, a lot will be taught about the plants and animals of the park, and the conservation efforts in this area. It might be that you are standing very close to the giraffe which is tearing the leaves off the acacia trees, as you watch the zebras or driving through a herd of impalas that are moving beside each other very smoothly on the plains, and the exhilaration of almost coming into contact with the wild animals will be mutual.
Recovery after the walk at the lodge and lunch, be prepared because next it is time for the exciting, calm, and serene boat cruise on Lake Mburo. In the peaceful waters, there are many silent hippos and basking crocodiles, which will be watched closely by the kingfishers, fish eagles, herons, and pelicans while they play and catch fish along the shore of the lake. Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Get up during delicious morning light for the best game possible. Antelopes are active at this time and it is also the time for yawns from hyenas returning to their dens and the whole air occupied by birds singing.
This is the last day for you to be observant; maybe you will be lucky to spot another dimension of the park, for example, a herd of buffaloes moving slowly across a certain place, giraffes browsing high on the trees, or even the suspecting view of a leopard that is near you. Suitably enough, this is the phase where the drive will conduct an inspection of the rooms in case of any left property, then, it will be time for checking out of the park.
Afterwards, the journey to Kampala/Entebbe will begin right away and among the different stopovers on the way this time round one will have to have lunch in either Mbarara or Masaka.
