Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Early in the morning the adventure begins with a pick-up and a short briefing by the guide from your hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe. The 5–6 hours drive to the park in the northwest is very scenic making it feel shorter than the time taken.
At the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will stop to admire the only herbivores in Uganda before resuming your journey through rolling hills, rural agribusiness, and welcoming farmers.
Arrive at the park in the afternoon, checked in and settled at the lodge before driving to the top of Murchison Falls where you’ll have the best view of the Nile as it violently forces its way through a narrow cleft with a lot of noise and comes crashing down. It is such a beautiful view and the mist streaming from the falls is a visual phenomenon of a rainbow under the afternoon sun. Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise
Cover yourself well for a chill and foggy morning game drive across the northern savannah plains. The first hours of the game drive are the most likely time to see some of the large predators and then retreat to their secluded paces as the day gets hot. Elephants have been heard trumpeting from a distance, giraffes are paraded who is more elegant, and the buffalo herds are already busy grazing under the hatching sun.
