This 6 day expedition kicks off from Kampala or Entebbe, heading northwest towards the legendary Murchison Falls National Park, the largest and oldest of all parks in Uganda. Here, you will actually witness the Nile River forcefully quenching through a narrow gorge to form one of the mightiest falls in the world. Game drives pose a clear opportunity to see elephants, lions, giraffes, and buffalos, while the boat cruise on the Nile offers the sight of crocodiles and hippos wallowing in their element.
Then comes a southwest-bound journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the most famous of Uganda’s safari destination, famed for tree-climbing lions, mighty savannah plains, volcanic crater lakes, and the picturesque Kazinga Channel. This indeed is a mix of thrills and chills, unfolding a new spectacle every day.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Murchison Falls National Park from Kampala
Your adventure kicks off with an early morning start from either Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy a drive across rolling hills and traditional villages. On the way, you will alight at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking-an exhilarating experience and a wonderful opportunity to look into one of Uganda’s success stories in conservation. Proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park, reach in time for dinner.

Day 2: Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise
Rise and shine for a thrilling early morning game drive across the Buligi game tracks, with the light of dawn revealing the scene of giraffes, elephants, lions, buffaloes, and antelopes roaming free. After lunch, embark on a boat cruise down to the base of Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile is squeezed through a 7-meter gorge before it violently drops down. The cruise is a paradise for bird watchers and photographers.
Optional: Hike to the top of the falls for a panoramic view.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After relishing your breakfast, exchange goodbyes from the driver, who will drive you across the country to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a more diverse wildlife wonderland in Uganda. Although the journey is long, it is rewarding as it passes through the gorgeous Tea plantations and the Albertine Rift Valley. Arrive in the evening and relax at your lodge, soaking in the atmosphere and sounds of nature.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Cruise
Start early with a morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains, spotting lions hunting, herds of Uganda kob, elephants, and buffalo. Continue to the Kazinga Channel, which joins Lake Edward to Lake George, for a boat cruise. This natural channel claims one of the world’s largest populations of hippos and provides excellent bird-viewing chances of kingfishers, egrets, and fish eagles.

Day 5: Ishasha sector plus Tree-climbing Lions
Heading south through the Ishasha sector, famous for its unusual population of tree-climbing lions. If shooed by luck, you will see these majestic cats perched in fig trees, thus an iconic photographic opportunity. You may also see topis, elephants, and buffaloes. Spend the afternoon either relaxing at your lodge or walking the nature trails about the park’s periphery.

Day 6: Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Following breakfast, embark on another relaxing drive back to either Kampala or Entebbe. Stop for lunch somewhere en route to grab the last of Uganda’s countryside. Reach in the late afternoon and with that will be the end of your spectacular 6 days of safari through two of Uganda’s most famous parks.
